Take Advantage of Oregon’s Unique Tax Credit

The Oregon Political Tax Credit provides a dollar-for-dollar credit on your state tax return, up to $50 for individuals and up to $100 for joint filers. This is not a deduction but an actual credit against the taxes you owe. This is a nonrefundable credit, so if your tax liability is already zero, the credit won’t apply. The credit is subject to Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) limitations. Currently, the credit is available to individuals making less than $75,000 and joint filers with a combined income under $150,000. To qualify, contributions must be made by December 31st.
